With the rapid development of AI technology, its application in the legal field has expanded dramatically—from enhancing legal research efficiency and assisting with document review and drafting, to case analysis and predictive modeling. The arbitration community is now actively exploring the potential of AI. For instance, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) issued its “Guideline on the Use of AI in Arbitration” in March 2025, providing practical direction on effectively leveraging AI in arbitration while mitigating potential risks.
On the other hand, the rise of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and crypto-assets has introduced new complexities and possibilities for international commercial arbitration. Their decentralized, anonymous, and self-executing nature poses novel legal questions concerning jurisdiction, party identification, and evidentiary issues. Nevertheless, arbitration’s inherent flexibility, confidentiality, and the option to appoint subject-matter experts make it a compelling mechanism for resolving such disputes.
To help legal professionals, industry participants, and other stakeholders better understand and master these emerging issues in the context of international arbitration, this seminar will feature world-renowned experts who will share academic insights and practical experience to explore the latest trends in international arbitration.
