Formerly the Deputy Chairman (2004–2009), first Chief Executive Officer and Registrar (1991–1996) of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Lawrence is one of Singapore’s founding voices of arbitration. He now serves on
the SIAC Court of Arbitration and the ICC Court of Arbitration.
With more than 25 years of experience as an arbitrator, Lawrence has sat more than 300 cases, presiding or acting as sole arbitrator in over 200 cases. He has taken on cases administered by institutions including the SIAC, ICC, LCIA, ICSID, HKIAC, CIETAC, AAA, AIAC, AMTAC, SCMA, BANI, BAC, VIAC, LMAA, PCA, SCMA, as well as ad hoc matters.
Lawrence is also no stranger to mediation, having mediated in no less than 100 disputes, with mediations reaching settlement at a success rate of 75%.
Lawrence is on the panels of leading international arbitration and mediation bodies such as the AAA, AIAC, CIETAC, CMAC, BAC, KCAB, HKIAC, SIMC and SMC He is Singapore’s nominee to ICSID’s Panel of Arbitrators, as well as the National Correspondent to UNCITRAL’s Case Law on UNCITRAL Text (CLOUT).

Sally A. Harpole is an international arbitrator, mediator and attorney-at-law. Since 1977, she has focused on investment, trade, technology licensing and disputes for transactions between multinational corporations and Chinese and other Asian parties in a wide range of industries. As an attorney qualified in the State of California and the Hong Kong SAR, she led the China practices of multinational law firms in Beijing and Hong Kong for nearly three decades before establishing full-time practice as an independent arbitrator. After 36 years in Asia, she is currently based in San Francisco, California and continues to serve as arbitrator and mediator for complex commercial cases.
Sally Harpole has been appointed as arbitrator, mediator or counsel in over 130 international commercial cases in Asia, Europe and North America with procedures conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules as well as the institutional rules of the AAA/ICDR, the ICC, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Singapore International Arbitration (SIAC), the Chinese Arbitration Association (CAA) in Taiwan, the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB), the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and others.
Sally Harpole has contributed to the leadership of numerous professional organizations, including but not limited to the International Bar Association (Arbitration Committee Co-chair), ICDR/American Arbitration Association (Board of Directors), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (Council), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Commission and Advisory Board member), Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (Advisory Board) and the American Chamber of Commerce in the People’s Republic of China (elected as President for two terms).

Shilin started to practiced law since 1991 and focused his practice in dispute resolution area, including commercial litigation and international arbitration. He received various training from ICC Court of Arbitration and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He was one of the founders of CIArb Taiwan Chapter and currently serve as Member of ICC Court of Arbitration. He acts as counsel for arbitration in arbitrations administered by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration, Milan Arbitration Commission, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and Chinese Arbitration Association (CAA). Dr Michael Hwang S.C. currently practices as an international arbitrator and mediator based in Singapore. He was the Chief Justice of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts from 2010 to 2018. He sits as arbitrator in domestic and international disputes, including investment treaty disputes, under a wide variety of arbitral rules. Michael was called to the Singapore Bar in 1968, when he joined Allen & Gledhill. He became a partner in 1972 and retired from the firm in 2002 after serving as head of its Litigation and Arbitration Department for 10 years. Michael’s past appointments include: a former Vice Chairman of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), a former Vice President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), a former member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), a former Court Member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), a former panel member on the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Panel, a former Governor of the IP Academy of Singapore and a former Trustee of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). He was educated at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Oxford University, where he was a college scholar by open competitive examination. Peter Thorp is an independent arbitrator based in Paris.
Peter has conducted arbitrations under a wide range of rules and subject to
many different systems of law. He has acted as Chairman, Sole Arbitrator and
Co-Arbitrator on a large number of ICC, LCIA, SCC, CIETAC, HKIAC,
SIAC and CAA (Taiwan) arbitrations, as well as ad hoc arbitrations under the
UNCITRAL Rules. He is on the panel of numerous arbitration institutions, and
